Racine County UW-Extension to Celebrate Centennial

Racine County UW-Extension in partnership with Racine County will host an Open House in celebration of 100 years of Cooperative Extension in Racine County on Monday, January 22, 2018, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Racine County Ives Grove Offices, 14200 Washington Ave, Sturtevant. All are welcome to attend, refreshments will be provided, and there will be a short program at 6:00 p.m.

For 100 years, UW-Extension has partnered with Racine County and the United States Department of Agriculture to fulfill its mission to bring university resources to the local community in the educational areas of 4-H/Youth Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, Nutrition, and Family Living. Join Racine County UW-Extension educators to learn more about past and present programs as well as explore the organization’s plans for the future. This event is free and open to the public.

“The past 100 years provide a strong foundation for Extension, but we also are preparing for the next 100 years of relevant, university-based information to continue improving lives and communities in Racine County,” said Bev Baker, Area Extension Director.

“Our centennial provides us with a timely opportunity to thank our partners, participants, friends, and staff for their continued support of our educational programs,” added Baker. “It also creates opportunities for people to share their memories of Cooperative Extension, highlight our relevance, and celebrate the impacts of our educational programming.”

UW-Extension’s work in Racine County aims to build:
