HORTICULTURE MISSION

University of Wisconsin – Extension programs in Horticulture:

  • Plan, develop, teach and evaluate university research-based educational programs for all Racine County residents based on their needs
  • Diagnose insect, disease, and environmental plant problems for commercial businesses and consumers
  • Train and coordinate Master Gardener Volunteers

HORTICULTURE PROGRAM AREA TOPICS

  • Diagnostics – Plant Health Advisors provide community education about current yard and garden issues. Have a question about your yard, garden, interior plants or insect? (Limited Winter Hours) e-mail your questions to mastergardeners@racinecounty.com or call 886-8451
  • Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance Short Course for professional horticulturists is held annually.
  • Master Gardener Volunteer Program –  If you would like to be on the Prospective Master Gardener list, either call (262)767-2913 or e-mail caitlin.sprague@wisc.edu.
